I realise I'm a semantic pervert, but my problem with this isn't the weakness or unoriginality of the joke or even the assumption that people are ignorantly falling over for a laugh, but the confusion of the mind with the brain. We might ordinarily think of the mind as being instantiated in the brain, but the brain is what gets smashed to pieces on the floor, not the mind.
