Ladies biting their lower lip is recognised, lazy shorthand for “I am irresistibly attracted to whatever is in front of me right now and I fully intend to be engaged in unspecified filth with it within the next 20 minutes”. I am not sure if this behaviour has ever actually been observed in the wild, but actresses in print and TV adverts display it quite often. However, I gather you’re meant to bite it gently, not fall on it ravenously as if it’s the first thing you’ve eaten all day. My only hope is that this Debenhams model is chowing down on some kind of Haribo prosthetic.

This is a sobering warning to encounter when you’re midway through removing components from your computer. If, when I’m virtually knee-deep in my machine’s innards, I encounter “liquid” that can’t be accounted for by a recent tea or coffee accident, I can guarantee I will not be hanging around long enough to unplug the machine and consult anything. I fully expect my emergency procedure to consist of the phrase “Holy shit” and an impressive turn of speed. It’s reassuring to know that Apple seem to expect this to happen at some point.

And finally, if you’re stuck for Xmas gift ideas, how about a £125 parody-defying stocking filler?

Dear god, that first pic is alarming. It looks as if she's got it stuck between the gap in her teeth.

I need to know what the manual says, once you've: a) spotted the liquid, b) turned off the computer and c) consulted the manual.

Oh.

Wait. WHAT?

o-O What're you running, there? Some sort of HAL-esque evil mainframe? Has it started singing to you yet?

Disappointingly (from the specific and narrow perspective of this post) it turns out that it's not just a general fear on the part of Apple that at some point liquid might just be spontaneously generated - some models of my computer use a liquid coolant.

Just to point out, the above reply is what [livejournal.com profile] chiller is replying to above itself. This is because she is able to travel through time.

In response to her premature reply, then (What're you running, there? Some sort of HAL-esque evil mainframe?), the G5's processor was known for being powerful and above all fast. I gather they tried putting it in laptops but the laptops invariably melted.
