Although the story here is tragic, this nonetheless is the complete list of road safety campaigns that I look forward to seeing:

A drink-driver who killed a father and son in a motorway crash was performing a sex act on himself minutes before the collision, a court heard.

The court heard that Hussain’s erect penis was exposed when motorists came to his aid after the crash.

Judge Andrew Blake told him: “At the least it must have been a symptom you were not giving your full attention to driving.”

At the moment, almost certainly. It’s terrified of provoking more eruptions from a volatile press that has its own reasons for spewing angry lava over the BBC as often as possible.

It’s not as if the word isn’t already on the BBC News site if you want to look for it (http://search.bbc.co.uk/search?tab=ns&q=masturbating), but I suspect that for the time being you’ll find the Corporation being a little coyer in its reporting than usual in the forlorn hope that the Mail and Christian Bastard Voice might lose interest and go and shout at someone else. It’s a futile effort since the members of Christian Voice apparently have nothing else to do and, as Popbitch was keen to point out last week, the Mail’s owner DMGT, like other media organisations, is directly threatened by the BBC’s intention to move into local TV/web “portals”...

So if you want to see the word “masturbating” on the BBC’s news site, you’ll just have to sign up to Have Your Say (http://webofevil.livejournal.com/195930.html) like everyone else.

Now I'm not a driver...but I would hope that the crash would have cooled his ardour slightly.
