I just saw Mikey (the blind one) from this year’s Big Brother being led into the building. I’ll be honest, I hadn’t expected ever to see him here. Is he now some kind of media adviser to Gordon Brown? Is that why we were treated to the Prime Minister weighing in about Rossell Brand™? Does this mean the PM’s weekly briefings will now include an update on what he thinks about that week’s Eastenders?

[obvious and unforgivable 'blind leading the blind' joke]

Wasn't Brown asked what he thought of the Brand/Ross Affair? I love the way the media now use the verb "wade in" whenever Brown remarks on anything. He's not that fat.

I once saw David Schneider off of the Day Today and Mission Impossible in Parliament. Perhaps he was giving evidence to a Select Committee:

And global temperatures will rise 1 degree by 2030 - about the feeling of going into an overheated office after running too fast up the stairs. And that's all the weather.

What happened to not commenting? One of my colleagues pointed out that she listens to "Today" every morning and heard not a peep out of the man all summer while the world financial system was shitting blood, but the moment the Mail gives it all that about the Beeb, out comes the "swinging fist" with his two sodding penn'orth.

Well at least he agreed with you. And I don't see why he shouldn't comment, if asked.

His comments on the financial crisis, on the other hand, appear to have come unprompted. Then again, as you know, I'd rather salute Adolf Hitler than Gordon Brown.

No, he was being shepherded through unfamiliar doorways with "Left here" and "Mind the step". Even he's got the sense to can it in those circumstances.

Mikey ...

Perhaps he was being called in to advise Gordon as to what all the uninvited zombies (http://www.e4.com/deadset/) are doing in the Big Brother house ...
