I don’t know how many people who responded to yesterday’s poll had actually seen this notice before, but if I were the illustrator I would be alarmed at their tendency to interpret the picture as referring to either a tomato or an anus.

I was thinking inverted nipples. It all makes a lot more sense now that I know that the dude with the face and the thing he's holding are supposed to be part of the same thing.

I'd not seen the image before attempting to get a pun in on "mushroom", honest! I'm not sure what my recognition of Etsco's illustrator image says about me.

It doesn't look anything like a mushroom either though, does it?

They clearly borrowed the graphic from the old public information film about the sticks of chalk who try to steal your bellybutton. Cheapskates.
