Right now Greenpeace protestors are
dangling outside the House of Commons. This morning they
scaled a crane on a barge beneath Westminster Bridge and unfurled their banner, which says:

While I support wholeheartedly their right to protest—even, if you can imagine such a thing,
without a permit—I have to object to the banality of their slogan. “You
love it. You want to
marry it.” It’s not much of a clash of ideas, is it?
There are four protestors, all with hard hats and harnesses, taking it in turns to stretch out on
a kind of hammock suspended to the side of the crane, while two policemen stand guard on the barge below them. No-one, in defiance of the current climate, is trying to storm the crane on the grounds of national security and detain the protestors as “terrorists”. It’s all very civilised, which is something to celebrate. The banner’s still crap, though.
