It is poorly worded and refers to ticks where it has radio buttons, but luckily I have a lower second class degree from quite a good university which gives me a special insight into these kind of things.
Basically you have to ignore than 2nd sentence as it's only relevant if you want e-mails from them, and then "translate" the 3rd sentence from ticks to radio buttons.
