You know I am a bit of a freak about this sort of thing. Coffee can be drunk from a darker mug, and a more muggy mug at that. But tea? I like a light mug, more large formal cup than mug, pref bone china really.

I'm w/Monkeyssk8 on this. I suppose it is in part a form of mood muggery.

And a bit like prefering plain white plates to some peach floral nightmare plate for your dinner. Or maybe that was just the associated connotation w/mum's horrid cooking efforts as a child. *shudder*.

Absolutely agreed, although I do like huge chunky mugs for tea, as long as they're not too dark on the inside.
