All right, now this is a story about a man illegally selling body parts. It’s important that we report it very carefully. The last thing we want is to open up the story to misinterpretation or cheap jokes.

Why would anyone want Alistair Cooke's bones? Surely he must have been about 300 years old when he died?

I wouldn't want to get into this body snatching game. It's a high risk investment but it yields well. It costs a lot to get started with though, it's going to set you back an arm and a leg.

Of course he's pleading guilty, he doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Also, he died of cancer. At the time that the news first came out, his daughter was interviewed, pointing this out as a Bad Thing for anyone who might get transplanted.

I've never understood how you can transplant anything taken from a person who is more than a few minutes dead. I mean: cell death, anyone? Isn't it just meat, by the time it's lying at the undertakers'?

AIUI they were taking bones to be used for grafts - they just use the mineral matrix, then living bone tissue grows into it.
