webofevilFor too long now Britain has been buckling under the yolk of a tyrannical film industry. Who can forget the day when 50,000 people marched from Shepperton to Trafalgar Square protesting about the eight per cent tax loophole that encouraged major studios to utilise British post-production talent and resources? I know the Archbishop of Canterbury spoke for all of us when he cried: "Lord, let this successful export nightmare end!"
Now, at long last, the Government have seen sense. They have rooted out the cancer of this tax break once and for all, and seen off the dark threat of further productive contracts for a thriving British industry. Soon, God willing, we will be free of the menace of film-making on these shores once and for all, and for that we should be eternally grateful.
