But I like to think that if a mortar exploded 100 yards away, I’d still be able to allow myself a small flinch. Iraqi PM Nouri al-Maliki, on the other hand, has clearly become acclimatised to a very different urban environment. The second camera angle shows that, while the UN Sec-Gen ducks, wide-eyed, in understandable terror, al-Maliki barely blinks. He may as well wearily hold up a small sign saying, “Welcome to my fucking world”.
