What's more of a concern is that the ultra-right seem convinced he's their boy to bump off Roe v Wade. Now maybe once in office he'll turn out to be less of a firebrand than they'd hoped ("The Supreme Court has ruled in a 5 to 2 verdict that Puddles is just the goshdarn fluffiest puppy it has ever seen; in his minority report Judge Scalia cited Mr Bones, his daughter's 5-week-old alsatian"), but anything that placates the Moral Majority - and especially that cheers them up as Alito seems to - has to at the very least give us pause.
