The British are generally a stoic lot, but in these uncertain times there is one thing they definitely won’t stand for: national treasure Judi Dench cursing.
“Almost every time Dame Judi swears in a film, regardless of its category, we can expect a number of complaints,” said the BBFC. [BBC]

From a local newspaper in Southport:
North Korea nuclear tests not a worry for Southport man in South Korea

A Southport expat who lives just 120 miles from the North Korean border says nuclear tests being conducted by Pyongyang are not causing anxiety in the South.

Mike Walker, 32, has spent the last seven years teaching English in the city Daejeon, which lies in the shadow of Kim Jong-il’s increasingly hostile regime.

Last month, the highly-secretive communist state conducted globally-condemned nuclear tests despite international sanctions—raising fears of conflict in South-East Asia.

But former Christ the King pupil Mike, who stayed in South Korea following the 2002 World Cup, told the Visiter that residents were relaxed about the threat.

He said: “There are headlines across the world saying ‘North Korea declares war’ but you wouldn’t guess it here.”
