Memo to me: when you’re glancing over the Prime Minister’s statement about national security, chances are that what he actually said was “I am today laying before the House the first annual update to the National Security Strategy of the United Kingdom”, rather than what you saw at first skim: “I am totally laying before the House the first annual update…”

Attempts to get kids enthused about the workings of politics aren’t half dealt a blow by stuff like this:

The tribunal procedure committee is now consulting on draft procedure rules for the proposed general regulatory chamber of the first-tier tribunal.

Try and devise an anthropomorphic cartoon character to bring that little lot to life, even if it is basically the plot of The Phantom Menace.
