A soldier has been banned from Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park ground for three years for disrupting a match on Valentine's Day.

James Miller, 20, ran across the pitch wearing boxer shorts and carrying a Cupid bow and arrow and red roses. Miller, of Accrington, said he disrupted the FA Cup game against Coventry to impress his girlfriend, who then ended their relationship.

He admitted encroaching onto a playing area and was also fined £200.

The disruption led to five minutes of extra time played at the end of the game, in which Rovers scored an equaliser. [BBC]

Blimey, judging from his physique, the Army's gone "equal ops" rather than "special ops" these days.
