On Friday the only Green in the House of Lords, Lord Beaumont of Whitley, will launch his private member's bill to ban all "piped music". I'm looking forward to this eagerly, because I'm urgently hoping he will repeat in the chamber, and therefore on record, what he said when interviewed recently about this recently on Radio 4: he said that prolonged exposure to loud music can lead to "Tintinitis".

My mother, who has tinnitus, an unrelated condition, heard the noble Lord describing his affliction and drew my attention to it. I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.

Yes, it is. And it's not at all scary that you could identify the cover from that one tiny section.
