Finger bang on the pulse

Lord Lucas: ... every single one of us in the course of our lives, at some time or another, has glorified terrorism. I cannot believe that when the noble Baroness and her colleague on the Front Bench were young they did not support some of the then terrorist movements which were fashionable. For myself, I supported Robin Hood and Hereward the Wake.

This came up when the noble Lord last made an appearance in this journal, but I still can't see that clip: my computer is too old (and my dial-up connection too shit) to watch it at home, while my computer at work is more than up to the job but our jittery IT department have set everything up so we can't download or watch ANYTHING.

However, I relish the possibility that the interview was conducted on a day when the flow of noble Lord's noble blood wasn't being restricted to his noble brain, so he was being quite sensible, while his interviewer was a bit of a Terry*. Is this how it pans out? Certainly the rest of the site doesn't reassure: "Thought Crime of the Day - Who really bombed London?" Oh God, I don't know; was it lizards? "AHA! You have strated to see thruog teh PROPAGANDA!" Etc.

If you email me (alfred AT oddbooks.co.uk) your address I'll happily stick it on a CD for you.

And eventually post it.

That's very kind, but I fully intend to have a new computer (and hopefully connection) by the end of the year. I just wanted to explain why I never seem to comment on this clip - which I am keen to see...

I got as far as "Lord Lucas of Crudwell and Dingwall" and then I giggled too much to watch the rest.

He doesn't use the "of Crudwell and Dingwall" bit much. He's just plain "Lord Lucas" for Hansard purposes. For some reason he seems to think it's a bit embarrassing.
