There's a scene in Baron Munchausen where some characters are sat on a tiny desert island, but there's this sudden moment of dawning realisation when they realise it's not a tiny desert island at all—it's merely the only bit of an enormous whale that's sticking out of the water. Don't know why I suddenly found myself thinking of that today.
